I need a spring for a PB magazine that is very very weak, but still has an OD close to .68. I've seen that as OD goes up this high, springs become far too strong. I suppose I could make my own with some music wire, but I have no idea how. Any ideas or sources for weaker springs?

i made a spring for my semi(coming soon) with ordinary wire(0.7mm) and a pipe in a drill, just spin and move your hand slowly forward, its very week but still can push 30 marbles.

I've heard heating music wire, forming it, and then cooling it works extremely well.

thanks for the tips, I'm going to be going with .026" Dia wire.

If I have to heat the wire to form it, how hot will it need to be; glowing red, or just hot to the touch? I have a small butane torch I suppose I could use
:EDIT:
just figured out the springs are to be heated post-coiling, that makes things much simpler

You might try ACE, in my area they have a decent spring selection that have been suitable for creating my magazines.

from a physics standpoint, the larger the diameter of the coils, the weaker the spring.
