Boom! The classic potato gun harnesses the combustion of flammable vapor.

on a hybrid the the spark gap has to be smaller in order for it to work right?
if you have a continuous spark does the spark gap still have to be smaller?

if your spark gap for a continuous spark is still small, your chances of igniting fuel air mixture is still higher right?

The greater the mix number, the smaller a spark gap needs to be (because the fuel air mix is getting denser). Depending on how energetic your ignitor is, you can get away with smaller gaps. For example for a lighter piezo, even with a 0.1mm gap you can't ignite much further past 15x. If you were using a stun gun, you can ignite much higher for the same gap.

in the long run a smaller gap will always be better , got it and so a continuous spark can light higher mixture with the same size gap got it , all clarified :)

No it cant, if its not strong enough it wont mater if you have it going for 1sec or 1hr. you need a spark that is hot enough ignite with 1 or two clicks, the only thing good about continuous arc is if you have a bad mixed air/fuel mix.

If the mix is good enough, one spark will fire it, my experience.

well it sounds like all it needs is attention to detail and precision. By the way if i were to make two spark gaps can they be both the same size or do they have to be halved from the original size?,for example 1 spark gap at 1mm changed into 2 spark gaps at 1mm

Depends on the power of the ignition. I would say you have to halve them.

depends, what are you going to use to make teh spark? If you use a car igniton coil you can run two 1mm gap at 15x sure, but a pezo no way. You would need one 0.1mm gap.
