Propane meter

After doing all the math for how long my propane meter,

I did an example ,
If I had a 15 inch piece of 4 inch pipe
using the volume formula

Then after researching i found once I get the volume of my chamber. Make my meter 4 percent of my chamber volume

My chamber volume is 2.4 , Im confused, so make my meter/pipe 2.4 inches? Im going to use 1/2 inch steel, I've seen it being the used the most.

Gas compresses. If you make the pipe that size you will need to fill with Propane to 2 atm absolute pressure so whem injected into the chamber tt expands back to 1 atm pressure placing one volume in the chamber ane one remains in the meter pipe.

If you used a pipe 1/2 as long then it can still meter propane by filling to 3 atn absolute pressure and dumping 2 half volumes into the chamber with 1 half volume remaining in the meter.

Study metering until you understand Boyle's gas laws.
