This is my second, but really my first, seeings how Gunfreak made the last one. Anyways, nothing special, regular barrel sealer, 2 inch Tee, 1 1/2 inch porting,3/4 inch QEV pilot with a blowgun, and quick connect filling, piston is a 1 1/4 inch coupler plugged at both ends with a neoprene washer as the sealer connected by a carriage bolt going through the whole piston. Havnt made a chamber yet but it works with my old chamber which was just about 30 inches of 2 inch pvc sch 40, and a 36 inch sdr 21 1 1/2 inch golf ball barrel. I get 400 yards with ease at 80 p.s.i. Hanging out on the piston are my two pet bearded dragons, and no they are not ammo and no I dont fire at them. Here is the link, let me know what you think!!

Matty, you need to start using Photobucket.com for showing your pictures. It's free as well and less pop ups. Yes I have pop up blocker but when you click on a picture to enlarge it Imageshack gives you 2 pop ups for looking at the enlarged picture.

Nice work on the piston valve. Them Dragons look like they need to go on a diet... :P

Nice bearded dragons. What morph are they? BTW they are lizards, they are in the agamidae family. Nice cannon too.

Hey matty,

Your construction looks very good but be aware of that female adapter you used for the piston service area. I made a smaller piston valve not too long ago and split the adapter completely down its side when I screwed in the pilot assembly.

What that means is, there isn't much of a safety factor when you're actually shooting it; mine split while depressurized and it'll be stressed even more with 120 psi in it.

I later fixed it by peeling off the broken parts and adding several layers of fiberglass wrap around the new adapter, which has endured many shots now without issue.

look here...

Oh, and matty, any type of other cool stuff you mention in you post tends to send us off-topic in a handbasket. This includes all species of lizardy things, especially the "door-opening" variety.
Edit... found it lol

I had one break when fired. An alternative to PVC is ABS. Use the proper glue to join it.

I've had them hold up OK when nested inside another pipe to add a second layer.

Dont beeeatchhh about people posting in MY thread, I put the dragons in the topic as a size reference to the piston housing. People are free to ask if they choose to!!![/b]

I also had the same thing happen to me before, I posted it in a earlier thread. I have a good bumper, so I am not too worried. Thank you for the advice and concern though!!

Look at the middle picture. I rounded the edge of the female adapter by sanding it. I heated the pipe until it softened. It will soften like a garden hose and become flexible. With the adaptor on end, I simply shoved the pipe onto the adapter just like installing a hose barb. I made sure it was straight and let it cool. Once cool, I pulled it out and added glue.
When it is soft like a garden hose it can be bent quite a bit. Care must be taken to prevent overheating it.
