What I did back in januari 2006 is add an elbow to a basic piston valved over under pneumatic, wich were mostly done in PVC at that time, and used metal.
This made up for the lack in size as I could use a much higher pressure.
.. and I kept it short.

Not an invention, just a different take on existing spudguns.

I must compliment you on adding a relief valve to the design making it a repeater.
I have done this in other early launchers but I never thought of doing it in this design.

Although I must say that mine had a bigger barrel , a reservoir in the same diameter and a huge valve in comparison.

It would not have been suited for this.

If you can get an even bigger diameter reservoir to keep the power up.

Edit:
A major improvement would be to use a sidevalve and a closed off handle.
Working in reverse to the usual QEV-slidevalve semi combo, this configuration would give you VERY fast repeating action and less dump.
Basically what you did but pilot valve and bleed valve combined in one.

DON´T USE THE SLIDE+QEV they sucks
First, you wast more air by filling/exhausting the pilot every shot
second, it´s a pain in the ass to attach a spring to push the valve back to it´s original place, also a bigger pain in the ass attach a trigger on it.
Trust me, I have just tried to attach a trigger+spring on it today. I did manage to make it functional, but real hard to pull the trigger, also really unreliable and ugly

You're not getting it are you?
Flip the slidevalve 180 degrees and cap it off.

It now only fills the dead end to fire the piston valve wich will reseat.
This volume could be finetuned to be no bigger than absolutely nessecary for piloting.
Then, on return, the dead end bleeds off.

Same as in dahakka's set-up only lightning fast of you get the proper slide or threeway valve.
No need for the chamber to fill back up and no complete dumping of the chamberpressure.
I did almost the same in "Old Shatterhand".
In stead I tapped a hammervalve to pilot it.
This idea eliminates the need for a hammer and therefore the need to recock it or even finetune it to accomodate certain powerlevels.
It will always fire as intended,


A front grip Tee-ing off the main reservoir would keep it compact yet enlarge the volume.

You fill/exhaust the pilot with a normal piston gun anyway... not much of a difference.

I'm using a slide valve to pilot my piston gun, it works very well, and I'm designing a trigger assembly now

Where is JSR when I need his backup...

The way I'm suggesting (and what dahakka has done,) is locking in the exhausted pilot volume, then exhaust that after the shot.
This makes for short, gasconserving shots.

In other words more semi shots, in a compact package without the need for an extra bulky reservoir or compressor(tank) to run it.

anyway..I apologise to those that don't get it...and want to thank dahakka for the tribute and the inspiration for this idea.

Ah, didn't thought about that, but that would involving modifications on the factory made QEVs. BTW BTB have you ever watched my videos? I started using the flow-blocking plug on my blowgun pilots almost 2 years ago, also I believe I was the firsy one to achieve that, with my first semi-auto. So how about thanks me for inspiration ? I was about to link to your thread

3 way valves were pretty expensive to come by back then, so I'd made a basic version of what was Hotwired's design at the time, using two valves in series separated by a a length of tube, in order to only partially empty the chamber.
It wasn't semi-auto (but then neither is the canon on this thread) but it was rapid repeating with two triggers, one for firing one for venting. I'd used two pistol grip blowguns as a front and rear grip.


Of course using two valves you can also fill a small chamber then fire it instead of piloting into a small chamber.
