best semi auto airsoft rifle?

I have always wanted a gas powered airsoft rifle because compressed air is just so much better that the mechanical power of AEGs.
Polarstar finally made something available that is similar to what I want but sooo expensive
I may invest in a Polarstar later but for now are there any other cheaper brands of Co2/HPA semi-auto rifles I should look into?

Also are there any airsoft rifles here I could attempt to make?
I have a kobalt regulator and would like to fit the system into the body of an AEG so I could used its mags, barrel, and hop-up.

I care more about accuracy and range over looks and firing speed and have some experience with airsoft parts and simple air cannons.

Have a look.

With a short barrel, small chamber and 120 psi I was pushing 0.25g BBs at almost 600 fps. For skirmishing you need much less, so in a rifle setup with a longer barrel you can get away with a much smaller chamber, making it more compact and economical with gas.

The tricky part would be integrating it into an existing airsoft barrel and magazine setup, what I would do is replace the nozzle with a blow forward bolt.

Yeah that second image would work great but what parts could I use to make it?
I am pretty limited on tools and usually just use my hands, a drill, and a handsaw.

Where would I get the metal pipes or something to use in their place?

Most model and hobby shops carry brass and aluminium tubing is small diameters, and usually they are conveniently telescopic. If you not you can buy them online.
