Where to get 5/8'' fittings

Cannons powered by pneumatic pressure (compressed gas) using a valve or other release.

I got a 1/2'' quick exhaust valve off of amazon, but it has a 5/8'' output. My problem is that I can't get a 5/8'' inch to 1/2'' reducer at the nearby hardware store or amazon or even Ebay.

Coincidentally i discovered that suction cup Nerf darts fit perfectly into the 5/8'' threaded part of the QEV if you put them in backwards

Post a link for it or a part number.
I am guessing it is a 1/2 inch NPT.
1/2 inch pipe has an ID of .622 inch which is close to 5/8 (.625) which is what they may be referring to.

UPDATE

It turns out that it cant be 5/8'' because a 1/2 NPT thread won't fit in it. I'm guessing it might be 3/8''. I can buy 3/8'' at Lowes. Sorry about that.

5 / 8 = .625
3 / 8 = .375

.625 ≠ .375

Capish?

Why do you suppose an army store sells 3/8'' to 1/2'' pipe fittings?
