so i was given an old ac window unit :D which had a broken radiator and fan, but when turned on i am able to hear the compressor hum. anyway, long story short i stripped the compressor (and kept the capacitor) and if anyone could tell me how to wire this up it would be nice, from what i have been able to find via Google the red is start-up, white is hot, black is ground. if this is wrong please tell me, i do not want to ruin this thing (which is deceptively heavy..)

here is a couple pictures to aid any information you may have. i have listed everything i know about it, also if you know what psi/bar could i expect from it and would i be able to feed it for higher pressure with my shop compressor, but my primary concern is wiring. also what is that round thing connected on the black wire... it seems intresting

thanks in advance, any info is helpful and appreciated :)

For a start pics of the wiring... you posted just one pic that shows the 3 pin connector and probably an overcurrent relay but we can't see the rest of the wires so that's not enough

I am guessing that compressor came out of a "Frigidaire air conditioner".

Here is a typical diagram for them.

At the other end of that cable:
The start capacitor is hooked between RED and WHT.
The BLK lead to a 15 Amp 120 V switch. Other side of switch to AC Hot of power cord.
The WHT lead is hooked to AC neutral of power cord.
The compressor frame is connected to GRN of power cord.

You can show your appreciation by building a nice HPA launcher ;)
