Hello once more spudders.

I recently purchased a minilathe.
Oh the fun I've been having with it.

One side project I have been working on is a single pump pistol.

I've got the design all worked out, and I've been quickly throwing together a prototype, as you can see below, its far from finished.

So far I've got the piston, hammer valve, hammer, and trigger mechanism all made, I've worked out the final dimensions for all these components, however as I've been working with scrap so far, its not exactly neat, but whatever it works.
I have achieved my goal of working out any bugs in the basic workings.

It will be shooting 6mm BB's.

Very interesting!

How about a diagram of the internals?

I can't figure out where the hammervalve is located.
It looks to be a springpiston type launcher...

I second Brian's request for a diagram :)

Im at work at the moment so a quick paint diagram should hopefully do the trick.

The back of the valve is polished to 5.92mm and the hole is drilled and polished out to what i hope is 6.00mm with the valve pushed forward and my finger on the barrel port hole, i cant blow air through, but the valve does move freely.

i plan to put a lever under the piston, with the axis below the line of force when pumped, so that the force of the piston pushing out will hold the lever up, i have done this with another gun and it worked very well.
of course once ive shot the lever will simply fall.. so ill need some sort of friction or mechanism to hold it up anyway.

the gun will be bolt loading.

as it is at the moment it makes a rather nice crack when you hold pressure on the piston by hand and fire it.

Nice! It's not going to be a powerhouse by any measure but I like the fact that it's self contained, good show!
