Sprinkler Valve Problem

Hi guys!

I'm making a cannon that has an electrically activated sprinkler gun that has a ball valve in the back.

The problem is, whenever I open the ball valve to fill the intermediate chamber, air bursts out of the sprinkler valve! I'm only pressurizing it up to ~30psi, and the air is still coming out. Am I doing something wrong? I've checked all my connections and there's no problem there.

Are the arrows on the valve pointed to the barrel? Some pictures of your setup would help...

You need to take the valve apart and remove the plastic part that stops air from equalizing in the diaphragm. Pictures will help.
