Could you find weak spots with video?

I shot a little carbide canon i built last night around dusk, when it fires it really glows and as i look i can see all the little sections i have glue together.

The tee and the coupler infront of the tee have a higher pressure rating then the barrel wich is like half the rating as the tee, coupler and rear cap. The barrel is just a slip in fit and its not glued so it can be removed to keep the cannon small and portable.

In these images you can really see the thin spots.

Fantastic images! Since opacity is variable though depending on the specific material, not sure if it is useful for stress calculations. For example. a pressure chamber made of 12 inch thick glass would be stronger than chamber made of 0.01 inch thick metal, but the glass would let a lot more light through.

lol, good point never thought about glass.

Did you know the first big bang cannons that used carbide were first made of glass when they were promoting them? Like you said they were really thick though like old school pop bottles thick.

I forgot to add the barrel on this cannon has a coupler at the end sort of like a flash hider thing and its dark around it also because its like twice as thick.

The color of the barrel near the reducer reminds me of the color of like molten metal or something.
