hey all, very new to the crafting of pcp airguns
abit of a noob question (I know), but how effective would galvanised steel pipe be as an air reservoir, filled with O2 using a shock pump? on average what pressures can I reach safely? I like being alive so I thought Id ask the experts :bigsmurf:

how much pressure does your shock pump goes to ?. What are the sizes of the pipe, and how will you "seal" the pipe.....
Generally It will go to 60 bar with no problem..........

ANd how will you pump O2 with a pump ?

Hopefully by O2 you really mean "air", as any homemade pressure vessel and pump utilizing pure oxygen would be extremely dangerous unless built with the proper seals, lubricants, and connections. There are numerous horror stories about pressurized oxygen in incorrect or outdated vessels.

shock pump said to reach up to 800 psi, pipe has a diameter of 15mm with a length of 40cm. sealed with brass end caps, one brass capped end will be capsuled in epoxy.

I will be using a shock pump

yes, I do mean air. what exactly is a 'proper seal', connection' ? currently using brass connections with nylon tape. sorry for all the questions, just am very keen to get this right

800 psi will work with no problem. Anyhow, you must worry about the rest of the gun too.

I was referring to the proper seals for oxygen, which are rated for oxygen service. :P

I you're using air, you're doing fine.
