Rated 4 inch fittings?

I dont really like to buy things on line when i dont have to, and i wanted to make 2, 4" resevoirs for a pnuematic, would 4" end caps, couplers,and 4" - 2" reducing bushing be safe to use from home depot or lowes? or do i really i have to get them online.

In all reality you can take DWV fittings fairly high, escpically when using pressure rated pipe. So your descion comes down to how safe you want to be. I personally would hate to sit there and second guess myself, but thats your choice. I bet there is somewhere else you can buy locally, but your not looking hard enough.

well if i do use just those 3 , 4" parts will i have a good chance of being safe? Or should i definately get the rated ones on like mcmaster. The 4" coupler i found on mcmaster says never use with compressed gas....

Are you serious? Nothing is rated for compressed gas, have you ever read a thread about pipes before? It also says "PVC pipe and fittings are not approved by the manufacturer to be used for constructing spudguns." on SpudTech's Main page....

No plastic pipe is made for compressed gas...

on mc master though for example, how do i know if its pressure rateD? the webpages are so confusing i have no idea wtf im looking at, it looks exactly the same as for example a coupling that home depot sells in 4" size.

if your looking at PVC on McMaster just choose Schedule 40 or 80 when choosing the pipe options (size, type, material, etc.)

Ok well just because im me, i had to go to home depot for myself, i went there and bought like 34 dollars worth of fittings, i bought 2 4" couplers, caps and reducing bushings... I bought them because the boxes they were in (yes they were the correct boxes i checked) said PVC-DWV on them, and i figured they were the same exact thing as what i bought in 2" for my small pnuematic cannon, which i have charged to 130 psi with no problems to speak of. The parts they had in 2" that i have bought for my smaller gun said the exact same things on the box, not including the sizes. So basically should i be ok with these if they work fine in my smaller gun? This gun is about 20 times the size, its going to have 2 chambers of 4" PVC that are 36" long (3 feet) the smaller one is like ... 14 inch barrel 14 inch chamber.

I have seen sch 160 which is the only pipe rated for compressed gas gas and is only avaliable in 1/2,there is a cannon on this site with a shc 160 barrel on the official pneumatics.
nice cannon and it it doesnt bother you then use it the way it is,but i'd be a lil scared..lol

Never fear DWV fittings, i promise you will never die or worse using them.

i filled my old spudgun to like 110-120 psi and it had like 3 DWV fittings on it (2 DWV street elbows and a 3-2 inch DWV reducer).

since those days, i have never feared using DWV fittings but they are usually a last resort.
