Is this a normally open or closed valve?

Sorry I cant understand the pneumatic symbols, can anyone tell me if the valve in the link is normally open or closed? Many thanks Ian

By looking at the diagram it's normally closed, and it's also detenting. (push / pull) Meaning that the button will stay in "pushed" position, and you will need to pull it back to change valve position. Probably not what you want..

Thanks for letting me know its normally closed, that's what the majority of valves seem to be. I was thinking of the Clippard MJV3-0 (iirc) the normally open one just concerned about its size/flow rate.

The clippard MJV3 series are an excellent valve. They are rated at only 300psi but we have ised them up to 800 with no problems. The smaller version (not the J(umbo)) is easily damaged at pressures over 300 even though it is rated the same. The MJV has great flow for exhausting.

Thanks for the info, I don't understand the technical valve diagrams, but would it make a suitable candidate to work as a 3/2 valve to fill my resevoir and then dump the pilot air for a Humphries 3/4" qev? I want to use this valve in place of a slide valve will it perform the same function? Thanks
