Compressor HP to cfm relation
Thinking about my compressor, and have a question. I use large ac compressor to bring the 100 psi or so from a regular compressor up to 300 psi. What id eventually like to do is mount the ac compressor on a frame with a matching standard compressor pump and motor as a first stage. What I'm having difficulty determinging is how to size the two in comparison. It seems most of the cheap regular pumps advertise 15-17 cfm at 90 psi for a 5hp motor. The other issue is I have issues finding the specs for the ac compressors. Is there a general principle thar could roughly approximate what it requires hp wise to go from 100-300 psi assuming 5 hp and 15cfm initially?
