compressors for pneumatic guns?

I was just curious what kind of compressor people use? I have access to a big one at home, but I am looking at something more portable. A while back I heard of making a compressor from the pump out of a refridgerator, so I was thinking about doing this. Is that an OK idea?

a refridgerator has freon and is illgal to dismantle
i have a 3 gal craftsman compressor that fills a 4" x 4' chamber to 30 psi without automatically starting. it was only $99 with the hose and blogun and other assessories

lol i have the same air compressor at Spudshot i think. I have a 3 gal craftsman to its red. it seems to works great to for filling anything really but i put another fan on mine cause it does get pretty hot so yea
