So it just dawned on me that all the US members on this site could technically be busted for our cannons and crap. Is this possible because I really don't want my ass to go to jail.

How can we be busted? Fuck, I can legally own a gun (and I do) since I have a FOID card, so how can something similar to a paintball or BB gun get me in trouble for owning?

The BATF classifies potato guns as "recreational devices", therefore they fall in the same category as BB guns or paintball guns, there are several counties/cities (probably mostly in Kommiefornia) that have banned potato guns, however to my knowledge there have been no Federal rulings on the issue

yes like spudshot said they are recreational, but i also saw that they said they can become illegal because how they are used or projectiles being used or something like that

It just dawned on me how you have no concept of what it takes to get "thrown" into jail. You can smoke weed and if caught all that will happen is the cop takes your weed and cracks your pipe. Only time I could see someone getting in serious trouble over a tater gun is if they shoot someone or there property. The dumb post meter is maxing out right now...

Call your city concil. dont tell them who you are and ash them if they are legal. and if they say no ash them where you can find a copu af the law/ordinance.

There is a difference between "legal" and "not illegal". "Legal" means many people do it and it is many times encouraged. "Not illegal" means it is an iffy thing that some people like and some don't.

Spud guns fall into the "not illegal" category. It all depends how you use them.
