I recently took the other course you have posted on this site. I passed it and learned a few things too.

yeah, good course that,got my pen and certificate from Canada for free but it took 3months to post to NZ, Hand signed and everything not some photocopied POS, I put the pen to good use and took out the ink cartridge(its one of those metal ones) and I shot it at some gib board

Hey, i live in Australia, SA, Adelaide, is it possible to buy this stuff in my local hard ware store, i currently have PVC Glue, and its blue in colour, is that anygood, or is this stuff much more better, and this stuff makes it pressure rated doesnt it?

You will need primer, and the pvc cement (as far as I have seen) that is pressure rated is green. Might be mistaken, dont know if there is a universal colour code, but I've only ever seen green pressure rated weld. All available at the local hardware store.

Ok, yah my mate has that green stuff that your talking about, i will get some of that, but, is the green stuff as good as this stuff?

No i meant the stuff that they used on burntlake and thats in the pic in this forum

i meant whats better the green PVC glue, or the solvent welding stuff, that is used in the pic above

Solvent welding consists of priming the pipe/fitting and then applying the cement to both, inserting securely then 1/4 twist. The green PVC glue is just the cement. You can use any type of primer as far as I know. The stuff used in burntlake is clear stuff. If you intend to use clear PVC cement, check the label for pressure ratings just to be certain. For me, green is the pressure stuff.

Mmm I never use primer, what is it? does it just clean it or someting, like it prepares the plastic to be cemented? What does it look like?

I don't think we have the green in the US.I know our heavy duty glue is clear and the rain n' shine stuff(for plumbing) is blue.Both work out fine.The blue will handle as much pressure as the pipe.

Ok cool, well i will look at that test when i have time, and can be bothered, so basicly the best thing to do is primer the two parts, then apply a fair it of PVC cement and push them togethor, and twist 1/4?
