Has anyone ever tested PVC pipe to find the average bursting pressure? Or is there other info on the net, if so please tell me.
I have seen a chart for the theoretical burst pressure but I have not seen one where they have physically tested it.
The reason I’m asking is because I need pipe most likely 1" PVC to hold high pressures than what its rated to, possibly just under a few hundred PSI under its bursting pressure. I want to be able to use PVC because its lighter than anything else I could use, I was going to use carbon fiber tubing or something ( I can’t remember what it was called ) but PVC is a much simpler and cost effective alternative.
Info will be appreciated.

A few hundred under it's bursting pressure? Basically, um, 0 PSI? You might be mixing up your materials. MAX PRESSURE means that's how much air it can hold, it's to keep stupid people from blowing themselves up, don't even take it near 200 PSI.cannon freak wrote:possibly just under a few hundred PSI under its bursting pressure.

I was looking at this chart the other day and they were saying that the minimum required burest presure for 1" SCH 80 was 2200 PSI. Is this just completly wrong information or what?
Noname how did you manage to exsplode a 3/4" pipe at 140PSI its rated much higher than that.
