I'll call him... Kevin.

So I found a 1.5" QEV on Ebay a couple weeks ago for $28 total after shipping. It is such a huge valve that it has a built-in pilot QEV. I have been wanting a good midsized powerful pneumatic for a while now. I've really gotten more into them. Since I do have a good compressor, why not? This thing is amazing. The power behind such a huge QEV is outstanding. I cannot describe effectively how impressed with this gun I am.

I decided on the name Kevin because I have always pronounced QEV as "kev" for short and Kev is, of course, short for Kevin so.. yeah.

I went with an orange paint job because... well... I like orange and wanted it to look kind-of obnoxious. I think it looks bad-ass! :P

The compressor is hooked right up to the QEV through a 1/4" ball valve and is shut before the shot. It fires by depressing the blowgun on the back. The chamber is 3" pipe about 20" long.

This launcher uses 2" cam-locks which means it can use any of my barrels from the Blue Flame (all pipe sizes from 1.25" Sch80 to 2.5" Sch40).

So here it is. Without further ado, I give you... Kevin:

PG"></a><a href="http://www.spudfiles.com/uploader/uploa ... .JPG"><img src="http://www.spudfiles.com/uploader/uploa ... PG"></a><a href="http://www.spudfiles.com/uploader/uploa ... .JPG"><img src="http://www.spudfiles.com/uploader/uploa ... s.JPG"></a>
(Click on em.)
Yeah, I got it dirty already.

So while doing this I broke not just once, but twice, 1/8" close nipples in the QEV pilot port. TWICE?! So after pulling those out twice I decided since there was plenty of room, I'd drill and tap it out to 1/4". So I did. So far it hasn't re-broke... again.

Nice paint job, I agree it does look bad ass! Looks very clean and the metal valve is a nice touch, great launcher man!

P.S. Any damage photos?

And now to make the message longer, (J/K).

It's a really nice gun, and I need to find out where I can get a large valve like that, (largest I can find are 3/4").

Torch, I haven't gotten any damage photos yet, but I will do some videos tomorrow or sometime.

Mark, the best place to find these valves are on Ebay.

And Salad, I assume most people say "Q.E.V.".

I usually just pronounce it Q-E-V, just stating the letters. But if i am saying it as one word, I'll usually pronounce it kewv

In other news... [link removed because Gort is claiming this auction. ]

You actually gonna go for that? I know I would, but this time, let's not battle over it like that other thing... Hey, did you ever find out what's going on with those valves?

no, im not going for it... i have 4 goyen QEV's right now, each of them with 1.5" ports (inlet and outlet), and I don't need another one. I put that one up there for mark.

Yes, i finally contacted the seller, and sent him a money order on wednesday (he was a VERY slow email responder, but I suppose I should be happy he accepted the money order and didn't flip out or anything). So the valves shouldn't come for at least a week or so. I told you on spudtech that I might be able to ship one or two out to you, but I'll contact you about that when the time arises

3/4" all around (inlet, outlet, exhaust). Like the ones on mcmaster, except that they are asco rather than detrol

Not right now in any case. If I ever need a 1-1/2" valve I'll see if I can eBay them when the time comes.

Very nice indeed. Where did you get those cam lock fittings? Those are great. (And so is your new valve). Nice job.
