i have a 1980's brass eagle pump action paintball gun that i decided to fire airsofts out of. i cut 2 bore sized wads of styrofaom, rammed one down the barrel, poured in 18 airsofts, and rammed the other wad down.
it patterns a group about a foot wide at 25 feet and will punch through thick cardboard

i get about 15- 20 shots per 12 gm c02 cartridge depending on ambient temperature, loads of airsoft "buckshot" are way too much fun when sitting around drinking and shooting paper targets in my living room

great idea but im not doing this wtih my paint ball gun. Can you ajust the velocity in so maybe if its on as low as it can go you could play with your friends. But if you dont have a chrony i dont recomend that.

i shot a friend of mine with it and he was NOT IMPRESSED, i was drinking and it seemed a good way to test ballistics. it welted the shit out of a 6 inch area on his stomach

Hmm, your idea akes me want to convert my semi-auto gun to do teh same but with a vertical tube magazine. That would be inline filled with custom airsoft rounds.
