believe it or not, mazola cooking spray( yes, COOKING spray) kicks ass! this stuff works really well and really make a big boom when fireing your potatoe cannon. the only bad part is u have to clean it out cuz it leaves a bunch of crap in the chamber. why would cooking oil be this good? i dont know. lol try it!

In most aerosol sprays, what's burning isn't the "product", but the propellant that pressurizes the can. The propellant is usually propane, butane, hexane, etc... and that's what’s burning. The "product" (in this case, cooking oil) is what’s left in the chamber after combustion.
I don't recommend using that kind of fuel, it gunks up your chamber and isn't as powerful as alternatives.
Try starter fluid (just a half second spray is enough for most combustion guns, this stuff is really powerful) or propane from an unlit torch. Alcohol in a spray bottle works really well too, because alcohol isn't very picky about fuel-to-air ratio, making it much more likely to ignite. You just have to get a spray bottle that has a really fine mist.

I don't mean to shoot down your idea. If it works for you, and its cheap, then by all means, use it.
