Ive seen 2" Spigot x 1/2" FIP bushings at Lowes, HD, and several other local PVC supplying businesses. Simply then screw your steel nipple into the 1/2" FIP connection of the bushing.

Would they have anything like that at Ace Hardware, and how much is it?

Ace Hardware doesn't have nearly the selection, if there is a plumbing specialty place near you go there they have EVERYTHING, I went to the one near me today and got FREE pressure safe PVC in 4" and 2" cuz it was in the scrap pile for having f'ed up flares on one end. They are also very cheap, it cost me less then 10$ for everything but a valve(Rain Bird) and schraders and such.

Ace would almost certainly carry such a item. Im guessing at a cost of around 2$.

ShortBus, that must be a construction supply. As far as plastic piping goes, to my knowledge for there intended purpose, never cross paths with a schrader valve since plastic piping under code is not for pressurized gasses.

It's the proper pipe, I don't know the markings off-hand but I do know that my 4" chamber pipe is sch40 165psi, the barrel and of couse all fittings are also correct. Would you like a pic of what I have?
