I know that you can tread iron pipe but can you weld it? I was wondering if there was a reason that i havent seen it done. Well can you?

If you plan to use a oxy/acetylene torch then there is no reason why not but i am not sure about other electric ark welders.

Some iron pipe you have to heat first, depends on how the pipe was made, grade of iron, also proper settings for the thickness is very importent. Brazeing would hold for drainage, but not pressure.

I have a mig, arc and oxy-acetylene welder. Im no good with the oxy and best at arc and mig. So I should use a bench grinder to remove the finish, heat with oxt-ace then weld. Sounds easy.

Yes thats true. It has more power than the mig and even if I make a bad weld ( which I will prabably do) it will hold the weight.
