I paint all of my spudguns using Rustoleum (sp?) paint. It's designed for metal so it sticks great on plastic and leaves a nice metalic sheen. Also I always sand my components with fine grade sand paper and make sure everything is nice and smooth before painting. Also the texture created by the sanding allows the paint to stick more thouroughly. I also suggest suspending your spudgun with some scrap wire so that you can paint all surfaces evenly.
