I would consider a burst disc a valve.
But, a piston valve type design could do all of them if you wanted...

Well you could add a ball valve in front of the union and have it open for when you use if for combustion/hybrid and use it only when you use it for a valve?pyromanic13 wrote:ya, but I meant a pneumatic as in "has a valve"

I'm thinking of makeing a gun like this but I'm afraid I'd forget to turn the valve open and it's blow up...

You could make a hybrid that uses a sprinkler valve, I believe someone made one once. You would have to worry about the valve timing and the diaghpram melting though.

Try this.
The 1 inch sprinkler valve is modded with a 1/4 union with burst disks loaded. When the ignition sequence is reached, the disk ruptures and accuates the valve.

Of course a sprinkler valve couldn't handle the pressure from a hybrid mixture over 1.5x or so... but you could use the same "burst-disk-for-pilot-valve" idea with a piston. Assuming the lag time wasn't bad, and the pipe/fittings were rated high enough, I don't see why it wouldn't work... I'd love to see someone try it.
Peace,
Pete Zaria.
