question about HDPE

i have question about HDPE pipes..
are they good to use to build combustion spudguns or they too weak?
because i have in my area allot of HDPE pipes and PVC is too expansive for me..

do you have an idea how to attach 2 kinds of the pipes witch arent the same diameter? i know that in PVC ther is spcial parts but i don't think that in HDPE ther is too...

one more qouestiom about the pipes.
i have some in my street but they are kind of little rounded.
do you or enyone know how to make them be straight?

I dont think it would be that hard to make straight. And the part for joining 2 sizes is an adapter. Just ask me if you need any more help.

I believe that HDPE is heat-welded, although I geuss it's possible that it uses gaskets.

What this means is that it's really f'ing hard to join... commercialy, I believe they have fancy machines that do it. It may be possible to weld it in the same fashion you would weld steel, but I wouldn't bet on it working well.
(I don't know much about gasket systems... but they don't require welding or such)

...but, yes, HDPE is a good plastic. VERY impact resistant, resistant to fragmentation, very resistant in regards to solvents (which is why you can't solvent weld it), translucent, cheap...

amm ok so it's good to stand in the pressure. but i understood that it's really hard to make them straight. if i will put the pipe, and i will put board on top of it, and then i will put big weight for few days, you'll think that it will work?

Israel.it's something like 5 dollar for one meter of pipe.. it isn't s-o expensive but isn't cheap

I am sure that HDPE is what we use in the UK for underground gas supply pipes.

Its easy the join and to fit bends and Tees to all you need is a bundle of fittings and a fusion welding machine!!!

Its a really clever system, the fittings have coils of wire embedded into them and two terminals on the out side. After a quick wipe off you just slip the fitting on, hook it up to the fusion welder and let it go. Large electrical current heats the wire that melts the pipe and hey presto its fusion welded. Its all controlled and no chance of getting it wrong.
The kit to join this stuff costs thousands sadly and the fittings are in the hundreds each.
