Just wondering, but why keep count of how many post a member writes?
Honestly it makes other members look at you differently, a great idea can come from a member who has 2 post just as easly as a member who has 1191 for instence. And besides, i like to talk about all kinds of idea's. Does that make me a "post whore"? That term kinda offends me a little, but not to much. I'm interested in how/what other members feel about keeping count of post?
Why keep count?

poll?
Movie dialogue: "The good die first."
Tom: "But most of us are morally ambiguous, which explains our random dying
patterns."

You get an avatar upgrade with an increased post count round here and the general idea is a high post count indicates that someone has been around long enough to have at least absorbed a fair bit of information on the relevant topics.
Anyone who posts for the numbers should be shot.
W00t! +1 postcount!!1!!!1!
*BANG*!

Not a poll, interested in what others think about it. A high count can get you called a "post whore". Post whoreing vs discussing a topic, how can you determen the differance?
Post length usually.
A post saying "WOW! Sweet cannon dude!" is less beneficial to the community than a decent critical response and could be called blatant spam.
However the person who made the cannon will still appreciate the positive response on their work and there tends to be a correlation of better cannons attracting proportionally more of those.
Something which is of negligible benefit while not being crap enough for a mod to delete is what I'd class as post whoring. Something like "Yeah I agree".

It's simple.
It's built into any forum software you can find because people like to know how much they post lol.
