my first spud gun

hey all i just finished making my first spud gun and well im worried if it will have enough spark to ignite im using hairspray and im using a barbecue lighters spark and running wires into the tube

ps. i am looking for lantern lighters but cant find any place that sells them :( expt in the usa but i live in australia

Question -- How are you going to get the ignighter to spark with only one electrode inside your chamber? Normally two electrodes(screws) are placed into the chamber then ajusted to create a spark gap(4mm or so). The ground is connected two one, and the positive is connected to the other.

it has 2 wires and spark jumps from one wire to the other

im not sure of the gap thow i better messure that

if i have the wires to far apart the spark wont jump so i have them pritty close to eatch other

but yeah ill mesure it to make sure its around 4mm gap

use axe or tag not hairspray your gun will last longer

if you have any walgreens near you go in and get Walgreens brand spray deoderant it works good and i haven't had problems cleaning it. i haven't had sticky residue yet. and they come in like 20oz. cans for $3 great deal and it lasts longer :D
