hey i found this pipe near a construction site that no one has worked on in forever. does anyone know what kind of pipe this is it is 4 inches by like 12 feet it is like a sea green color and doesnt have much writing on it. i wanted to use it for a potato gun barrel or chamber but i need to know if i can use it. if anyone knows what kind of pipe it is please let me know!

Residentral sewer line, my cousin works with this all the time. He's a foreman for Comer Construction, Forest Hill, Md. Runs a utility pipe laying crew. Develeptments/commerical sites. Uses a lot of copper line when running house connections in new developments, 3/4" i think.

That is not fit for spudguns......sorry.

do any of you guys think i could use it for a combustion gun chamber? it would be great if i could cause then i could just take the pipe and no one would notice

Rated to 46psi, I'd say no. A metered propane combustion gun can theoretically produce 82-86psi, this is too much of a pressure spike for pipe rated to 46.

Though there's continual debate on the topic, I prefer cellular core ABS for combustion guns - if it DOES fail, it rips clean with no shrapnel (as far as my testing can tell...). It's also dirt cheap.

NSF-PW PVC is always considered the best.

i have seen sewer pipe used before, but it was rated to more PSI than that. I would not use that low rated pipe. Combustion makes alot of pressure too, i wouldnt risk it. JMO

do you have an air compressor. if you do put a chuck in a small piece of the pip and hook the air compressor on it and turn it on hiding behind a wall and if it blows up don't use it if it doesn't you can.

hey i dont garbage pick i just wanted to know if i could save money on pvc but i guess i cant. and i wouldnt do that with this pipe ill use some other pipe it sounds fun. i just want to blow up a peace of really good pvc.

i would bet that if the combustion chamber was only about 8 inches or so and had a coupler in the middle it would be ok, but probably not worth it.

nah im not even going to use the stupid sewer pipe everyone says its bad. but super spuder's test project sounds fun
