Whistling golf balls

Has anyone ever thought of taking the concept that whistling nerf things do and putting something similer into a golf ball?

for example you could drill various holes on it and when you shot it out it would make cool whistling ammo AND still do damage.

Sounds mad might have to shave down the golf ball so itl fit the barrel tho

Not really. If you just put little holes in (.5mm) it would be the same. have you ever got an empty pen and blocked the bottom end with your finger, then blow on an angle into the top? it whistles loudly. I woudl have thought it would have the same effect.

It should work. There was a link posted here to a video of a bowling ball morter. The ball whistled when it was shot, I think it was the finger holes causing it. So long as you drilled enough holes that there would always be one at the right angle I can't see any reason why it wouldn't work. If you drilled different length holes each hole would be a different tone, so as the ball rotates the sound would change.

you have to watch what kind of golfballs u drill through..some have titanium inside some have plastic some have a ceramic material and some have gel....i sawed one in half that had gel in it....the gel is pretty cool though

At a joke shop in Brisbane (qld, australia) you can buy trick golf balls which explode when you hit them with a golf driver but if you put them in a pneunmatic they explode on impact.
They also sell whistling golf balls which i plan to buy and try to copy their design.
