Hey, I was looking into making a gun to shoot 1/4" ball bearings, and I wanted to use another breech loading ball valve like I did here: http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/cool-ne ... t7443.html.

Only problem is that to do so, I would need a 1/4" PVC ball valve with socket-weld connection on at least one side. McMaster-Carr only sells ones that small with threading on both sides. Anyone know where I could get the kind I'm looking for?

Also, since I would be using another thin brass barrel sleeved inside 1/4" Schedule 80 PVC, I could, perhaps, just let the brass tube go through the male fitting. To know if this would work, without wasting cash that is, I would need to know the ID at the smallest part of a 1/4" male threaded adapter. It would have to be equal to, or larger than, the ID of 1/4" Schedule 80 PVC (0.282"). Anyone know?

Thanks in advance!

maybe drill out on side then sleeve coupler in and weld it in to the drilled out side of the ball valve, then weld that on to whatever.

you can buy a metal valve and attach a slipxthreaded adapter.
