I've been contemplating launching full pop cans for a while, just wanted to know if anyone has / is doing this?

Anyone who has made a launcher with a 3" barrel or bigger has certainly done this at some point

I was kinda wondering if 2.25" in pvc is available, around me the stores only carry half inch increments. I was thinkin bout getting 2" pvc and flaring the barrel with actual pop cans and leaving just one end at 2" to put a male end-piece to screw on to my current cannon. So that I had a dedicated pop can barrel.

I guess this should go in the ammo discussion looking back on things...

But since 2 1/4 pvc doesn't exist anyone have any luck with barrel flaring?

what's wrong with wadding in a 2.5" barrel?

Nothing is wrong with it. I'm just thinking of having a barrel with no hassle loading, just drop a can, shoot a can, eliminating the need for wading as another variable. And since this dollar store I go to has 6 packs of pop for $1.50, it's a very cheap source of ammo.

Are they small pop cans? Most standard pop cans are more like 2.6". If you can find it, 2.5" SDR 26 (or Class 160) is a perfect fit for standard pop cans.

hmm... didn't know that, I thought they were smaller than that, I'll do a little more research when I get home.

Make a resuable wadding to shoot its much easier then heating and flaring PVC. Just a thought

It's easier, but I don't plan on re-using the wadding, and wadding adds an extra variable, I found a place that carries the specific type of pipe I need so that solves the problem of flaring.

I just got a 2 1/2" SDR 26 barrel and pop cans fit great in it. They seem to have the most "fun factor" out of all the different things I've shot.

would you have to sleeve the SDR 26 to strengthen the barrel, or can you just do without it, i was just asking, thought it might be safer.
