Is $25 including shipping a good price for 10 lbs. of reagent grade potassium nitrate? I'm going to make some smoke bombs for th 4th of July...

I would say that's a pretty good price. Where from?

Ah, go figure. I wonder, do you know what to add to them to make color? I'm thinking of making some but that dull gray smoke is kind of boring.

I read how to do that somewhere, but you needed some kind of organic dye and random chemicals. I just mixed up a batch of flash powder with some strontium carbonate to give the flash a nice red color. It looks perty sweet!

Nice... I wonder what would happen if you mixed magnesium powder in with the mixture for the smoke bombs. Hmm... Sounds dangerous though. I'll try it!

You'd get pretty sparks.
Dyes can't be used with this smoke mix since it burns to hot.
