raft with pvc floats?

does anybody know how many 5 ft lengths of 4inch if would take to float a raft and like, 3 people? i would like to designe a boat around pvc floats.

thats a cool idea. u would probably need a lot i would think maybe like 5 or 6.
U could use less if u pumped them up to like 50 psi.

i dont think more pressure in the floats would give more floating power. then again, i dont know too much about this stuff

i think it would beacause air is less dense than watter so by increasing the pressure of air in the flot u increase the volume of air there for makeing it more boyant

I don't think so, because more air=more weight. Maybe if you used helium lol.

i know that 2x 6"x8' wont hold much more than 90kgs.

ahh, i see that sounds logical. if i can get this thing floating, Ill mount cannons on it and some kind of pneumatic propeller engine.

i think the the weight of the air probably isn't to much of a big deal. the boyancy probably over powers it.

Helium probably would work well, Hydrogen would be even better, just stay away from sparks :D

lol, the only source of gas i have is a bike pump. i would rather not pressureize them at all. would that be a problem?

dont pressurize the floats, that makes them more dense and therefore they will have less bowence

use plastic 55 gallon drums they arent that hard to get ahold of
