Pneumatic pitching machine

does anyone have any ideas on how to make a pneumatic pitching machine. i have been thinking about it but i'm can't think of much.

Make it spring return. When the valve closes. the piston would push back.

Like Jack said, I think it would only work once.

A) Because there seems to be now way for the gas to exhaust from, and no spring return for the piston.

B) because as soon as the piston is triggered to fly forwards, it will tear the crews/stop straight from the barrel, destroying the whole set up in a matter of seconds.

Just make the air propel (sp?) baseball, rather than a hammer/piston.

or go out and buy a pitching machine that will launch using only electricity and throw at a reasonable speed.
