Nice paintjob, one question why did you use a cleanout cap to mount your fittings to? And why a ball valve?

nice paint job but im sorry to tell you this but the elbows and bell reducer
are dwv and should not be used in a pneumatic. you need to replace them.other than that this is a rlely nice gun.

ShowNoMercy: I used a cleanout cap so it was easier to mount, and a ball valve because it was just collecting dust previous to this project.

th3p0p0: I realized this today, but i have taken it to 120 psi and let it sit overnight. I realize that this is quite a danger factor, but considering that I am going to be using it as more of a mortar-type of weapon, the gun will not be dropped on the elbows under any circumstance.

How well does the cleanout cap hold pressure? I haven't seen them much on pneumatics. If you haven't teflon taped it you should. Oh and the DWV will be fine as long as you're not taking it constantly to high pressures.

guys this is his first gun.. chill out.. this gun is awesome although there is some flaws that can be fatal...the members of SF jsut want safety so we dont get in trouble and have spudguns banned everywhere..

sorry to say this but u cant go over 60 psi without being in danger.

this is why, ur elbows, reducer, and cleanout cap are not pressure rated and can blow off or rupture and hurt u bad.. they have little words on them that say {nsf-dwv} this is bad...it stands for drain, waste, vent...u need {nsf-pw} this is good...i have no clue wat pw stands for... and it is pressure rated...

CONGRATULATIONS! you have done the best paintjob i have ever seen on a cannon. you should get an award.

unfortunately, the elbows, bell reducer, and cleanout caps are DWV. but you should be ok below 60 psi

I can't keep up to the replies lol.... as I said before, I know that the 4 parts on my gun are DWV, but holding a constant pressure of 120 overnight says that I will be fine with what I am using the gun for.

Are you planning on making a bipod? and what are you gonna be shooting?

Yea, at some point I planned on making a bi/tripod out of 1/2" PVC. Most of the time I just shoot colored ice out of it into the distance.....

one ques for ya, the ball valve u used, is it spears brand? the looks of that one is the wrong one for it, I made one for my first time and had that valve and luckely before i used it i learned that its not for air but only water use.

It's a CHEMTROL valve made by Nibco. It can handle water and air up to 150 psi.

ok, cuz my instructions to mine said not for air of any pressure..., ur cannon almost looks like mine, have u seen it on here? its under updated pics! First air cannon, check it out and lemme know what ya think, and how did u make your support? ik its pvc but how did u get it to fit?

Hate to break it to ya, but most of the parts used on these guns will say they are not meant for use with air pressure. But, they work, as long as they are pressure rated, (NSW Sch 40-80) you should be fine.

Matt221985: I used two different sizes of hole saws. If I have the time I can look at what sizes i used for 1 1/2" and 3" PVC.
