ghetto triggered burst disk

well i final got bored with my ghetto burst disk and that was just about the time i found and old rusted union in my dads "gas ftngs" box. the union had no sealing faces and a bunch of rust inside so. with a little wd 40, oil and 2 pipe wrenches i was able to clean out the treads. next i added a circle of neopreme and an o ring and got a perfect seal.
but my troubles didnt end there. i couldnt get the middle section to seal off. i finaly figured out the blow gun was mounted backwards and this was a one way blow gun. so i was abut to give up because i didnt have the right size adapter for the other side and my dad suggested why dont i just press the shrader valve down to vent it. i tryed it and it worked perfectly. im going to re mount the blowgun once i get the right part. just for a more realistic feel

That gun does look pretty ghetto, but the darts are beautiful.

ghettoness doent define the power. at 25 psi (one aluminum foil disk) in that gun i shot one of those darts about an inch and a half into a tree. and i cant get it out. its a black walnut tree if that helps

I like the design, but for some reason I never got reliable use out of my triggered BD gun. I had a nice one, though. Nice matte finish and a red-dot scope... and it didn't work.

what is the plastic around the darts? and nice gun!!! screw looks that thing looks powerful as hell... i still doubt that that dart went into that tree at 25 psi..

i swear it did! with only one disk my gauge reads 25 psi. ill try and get a video up if you still want proof but it did(i also sharpened the tip and the cone fits perfectly) . its possible my gauge it off what pressure does one aluminum foil disk pop at?

Despite that this cannon looks ghetto, its really the first one iv'e ever seen with the triggered burst disk set up. And the darts are really nice too.

Ghetto burst disks are always fun. They look small but give a nice sound and are strong for their ghettoness.

try a pair of vice grips to get the dart out of the tree. thats what i always have to do. looks like an oak, so good penetration.

Yeah, vice grips or just chip around the dart with a chisel etc and make a foam or cardboard target in future so they wont get stuck!
My foam target has a face on it that changes according to who irritates me!

ive tryed vise grips but i cant get enough leverage so im just going to cut it off at the base and try to salvage the cone to make a new one

experiment-u2 i believe it is half inch because the marbles i shoot out of it fit about the same in half inch pvc

another thing i forgot to mention- the Schrader in the pipe is treaded. i found that if you shave off the rubber on a normal valve stem there will be a reasonably thick peice of brass pipe. it is realy easy to tap and is air tight
