What Seperates Us (ed: fitting problems)

As many of you can see, im new here and to the art of Spudgunning. I recently built my first Spud Gun, out of a pill bottle, pen tube, and ignitor. Worked like a charm. My second was a little more, well, it was a little more. It was a basic combustion cannon, 3" combustion chamber (18" long) and 1 1/2" barrel (28" long).
It worked almost perfect, over and over I shot it, until, BLAM! I could'nt feel my wrist for about 5 minutes. The seal on the back where the clean out is had, broke. Blew the whole thing backwards, I got by with a bruise and scraped wrist. But enough on that. The question is, what is the best PVC primer and glue? I used Plumber's Goop, and well, I know its garbage. Or maybe it was my barrel/combustion demensions.
I don't know what it was exactly, cuase the rest of the cannon wont budge without breaking. Maybe I just didnt use enough glue? Someone please confirm the problem for me.

1) Go to hardware store.
2) Buy solvent welding fluids. They will come in steel bottles.
3) Read <a href="http://www.burntlatke.com/weld.html">this</a>.
4) Use pressure rated [NSF-PW or NSF-61] fittings. (not really necacarry for a combustion, but saftey is good).
5) Use pressure rated pipe. (SDR series, or anything stamped NSF-PW)

Yea, I picked up the metal cans (Like the oneson the site you sent) and its Oatley's. PRimer and Glue. Ima use these tonight, Im building a simple pneumatic with a ball valve (Ew, I know). When I get around to developing the pictures, I post the image of my wrist, dead gun, and new gun.

Dude, I'v probobly said "ball valve" literaly hundreds of times scence I started spudding... stop acting like an 11 year old and grow up.
...more to the point, ball valves open slowly. This means that they don't give you the preformance a good valve will give you.

Easy homie, a lot of the time i'v eseen someone say ball valve I seen another yell sprinkler valve. Apparently trying to keep my head above water drowns me.

I think boilingleadbath was thinking you were thinking it was... some kind of male part... not "ew" as in a ball valve sucks compared to a sprinkler.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Genaraly, I don't reccomend using "eww" around "ball valve"... you might try just chopping it off to form "I know...".
