These are some plans for the barrel sealing valve I just made a while ago. The piston plans are at the top, the valve plans at the bottom. The piston's check valve is the little red flap of rubber in the diagram and the hole through the washers. The black dots between the washers is an O-ring. The sealing face end has the black thing on it and a washer. The other end with the washers and the O-ring is the pilot end.

It's a pretty sweet valve, and should have good performance. The only thing I'd change in this how-to is that the piston is showed in different directions, which could be misleading to people who want to build the valve.

Instead of using a bushing to give the chamber port 1 1/2" threads, why not just a get a tee with that socket pre-threaded? 2 inches of flow will always be better than 1 1/2.

If they cant work that out, they shouldnt be building it.
Nice plans origin, Im sure many people will get a greater understanding of these valves thanks to the effort you took to make these plans.

Sorry to bring up an old post, but how do you install the sealing o-rings? Do you just squeeze it between the tee and bushing? Other than that, great design!

Instead of O-rings I used a gasket that seals between the back cap and the short piece of 2" pipe the piston moves in.

Oh... And did you cement the 2" pipe into the tee? Also, what did you use as the gasket, neoprene? Wouldn't an o-ring work too?
