First Piston By Redneck

Well this is my first completed piston cannon.

It sports a Piston valve housed in a 2" tee with a 1.5" endcap for a piston with a 1/4" pilot porting, and a 1.5" Barrel porting, and a 2" chamber porting.

The chamber is 2"x4' and the barrel is 1.5"x 7'.

This is my biggest and loudest cannon to date.

I have only tested this cannon to 50 PSI and using my thumb as a pilot valve. and the results were beyond my expectations.

What do you guys think? Questinos/comments, likes/dislikes(except primer stains.)

Here are the pics:

What I DISLIKE is that it actually works, and I still can't get my qev to work.
What I like is that I'm planning to steal it.

Beautiful. Just plain and simple, no special doo-dads or anything fancy. Does your piston pilot fast, or does it pilot about half the chamber volume before opening? I am having this problem on mine which I think is caused by me not having o-rings on my piston.

I dont have orings either, but i wrapped it in masking tape and lubed it up before sticking it in there  and it opens pretty fast. But that is probably your problem, what are you using for your pilot valve?

1/2" ball valve.

@origin unknown- yeah orings are probably your problem.

@twitch- Thanks, i get tired of all the fancy guns, the simple things in life are the most enjoyable :) .

Wow, I thought almost all peumatics were not as lowd as combustions. Do you get an echo? It looks like its a blast to shoot.

No I didnt get an echo but i was in my garage shooting it at 50 PSI ,it made my friends ear ring though.

Edit, it was not aimed at said friend.

Uh huh. Of course not.

EDIT - OF couse seriously OF couse not. I do not think you are stupid. BTW, have you made a combustion, or did you somehow start off building pnuematics?

No seriously, that is stupid and i would never do something like that.

@super spudder- No the pilot valve is a 1/4" ball valve and the fill/pilot assembly is not attached in the picture. and the tape was just to make it 'airtight' and i used shower liner to seal it. sorry to dissapoint.

@ spud yeti- Thanks, and yes i will eventually paint it(whenever I can get my dad to get me some spraypaint)

@ modder- Thanks isnt it just the most original cannon youve ever seen?!?!??

@ Hailfire- No I have never built a combustion, pneumatics all the way, thusfar.
