The ignition source is used to ignite the flammable gasses in the chamber of combustion and hybrid cannons. The most common ignition sources include:
- Lantern sparkers
- Piezoelectric BBQ ignitors
- Stun guns
- Camera flash-based ignitions
- Flyback ignitions
- Automotive ignition coils
All of these except the lantern sparker produce an electric spark, and need to be connected to some form of spark gap or spark strip.
