I was wondering if there's a common pipe size that fits into 3" sch 40? Also does say 2.5" fittings fit? I need something that fit in well for a piston in my chamber. Does anybody have any ideas?

2.5 fittins, such as couplers fit well in 3in pipe. It may be easier if you use 3in coupler inside 4in pipe, because it would let you build it faster, without as much cost as ordering a 2.5 fitting.

It's a bit late for that as I have already built the gun. I'm trying a really cheap piston made out of a can at the moment, but it seems to be having troubles. So stores don't carry 2.5"? What about sprinkler stores because I have one really near my house

K, the sprinkler store near me carries 2.5" fittings (at least some of them) so there won't be any extra cost. But I was wondering if I could just take two 2.75" inch metal washers, and two 3" rubber washers, then connect them with a bolt and 4 nuts to make my piston. Would that work well? Any other 3" piston ideas
thx in advance

I think that it will work. Do you have any pictures of it, or CAD pictures?

lol, WRONG!

Check <a href="http://www.harvel.com/pipepvc-sch40-80-dim.asp">HERE</a> to find the real answer of 3.042"...

Shrimphead, all I can suggest is whipping out the calipers and measuring "round" objects. This of course is for future reference. The piston you mentioned in your last post will work.

I found 2 things that fit nicely in 3" pipe, the round Stridex Pads container, and certain cans.
