B&A Pneumatic Sprinkler LLBG (Less Lethal Bean Bag Gun)

This the design for my new B&A series Rifle. It is shotgun style designed, and is going to shoot small bean bags, 1" rubbr balls, and bb gun shots bags. The Specs,
Barrel: 2.5 feet of 1" shc 40 pvc
Chamber: 1.5 feet of shc 80 2" pipe (+ the rest of the stock, etc.)
Valve: 1" manual bleed actuated orbit sprinkler valve

Also, not to sound wierd or anything but I have been concerned lately with pipe explosions, and I was wondering what would be the safest pressure to run the at?

Block off the air so it wont go into the stock, this will improve performance.

the man chamber still has to make that one turn.


For run of the mill sch 40 pvc it should hold 2000+ psi easily/
kidding, you shouldn't take pvc over 150 psi/

How does one block of air? Do you put a lot of epoxy in it or something?

The reason my 260psi rated pipe blew at 100psi is still unknown. I know I glued it right as i've passed the course and the cannon has never been bumped or dropped before so I just guess it was a faulty fitting. Im doing alot of pressure testing today on it.

I have heard that the stock being part of the chainber is not a good idea. Maybe the performace is only compromised if the valve is before the stock. My bad

@ Turbohacker, yes I think that is the case
@ Mr. Crowley, I'm going to double up the chamber, as in I'm not going to have any pipe showing on the chamber, only fittings, then over the main tank, I'm going to put 2 tube socks (yes tube socks) over each other so that if the pipe does explode, it will at least contain some of the pieces. As for the stock, I'll make it detachable via the 90 deg, elbow.
Only one question, what should I use to block off the chamber from the stock?
@Frankrede, I know what pressure not to exceed, I'm not dumb, I just wanted to know the best pressure for use in a pneumatic like this. BTW I've taken 3/4 in. sch. 80 past 220 psi and it didn't explode, because I got lucky and bumped the valve and set it off, lol
And for the small pieces of 3/4 in. going from the main chamber to the barrel, I'm going to slide that pipe foam on, and hold it on with zip ties.
I was also wondering what all of you thought ablut actuating the sprinkler valve with the manual bleed, like on this valve here.

EDIT: Holy Crap!!!I Just ran it through GGDT and got 380 fps with a 25 gram 1" rubber ball, and 280 fps with a 50 gram bean bag. All this at 100 psi.
CAN YOU SAY RIOT GUN???!!!!

EDIT: God Damnit! My dad is always giving me crap about guns in general, and how guns scare people, and how if you talk about guns people will think you're wierd. God, I hate it when he gets like this. Thanks to him, you probably wont see this gun for another two weeks. Maybe a week if I can convince my mom to take me to Ace Hardware.

EDIT: Yes my dad needs paint tommorow at lowes, I'll just sneak buy the parts and then say they're for lawn stuff. My dad would beleive this because he desn't really pay attention to thestuff I buy.

Couldn't you just avoid your dad's restrictions all together and go by yourself? I do that, and my parents are pretty much still in the dark.

Dont worry, my dad isnt too keen on me building "guns" either.
To block off the pipe I usually just either epoxy it or use a glue gun, make a +- 1" thick layer of it, then screw 4 screws into it just to be safe.

I think I'll just epoxy in a cap that fits and then hold it in with screws. Btw, can someone tell me if actuating the sprinkler valve with the manual bleed will work?

It works. Not well but it works.

Just get a blowgun to actuate it. The only problem is drilling and tapping it, for most people who don't have the necessary tools.

No, I want to do as little sprinkler modification as I can. The less I modify, the less the chances are of it not working. Also, the blowgun wouldn't work like a trigger,unless I angled it. If you look at the sprinkler valve, the black thing on the right side is the manual bleed, it is going to be held and fired easily because it is easily accsesable from my hand.

Put the blowgun on a hose. Then you can hold it wherever you want and there's less chance of the adapter ripping off from the sprinkler valve.

why not get a 45* elbow then the blowgun if you want a trigger.
