Can I fill a Parker QEV from the chamber side of the valve? Has anyone done this before?

I have a 3/4" Parker QEV I got off of eBay, and I could fill it through the chamber, at first. Parker valves are so wierd... Now I can't fill from the chamber anymore. I also hate how hey are so bulky.
Summer Projects:
CO2 tank hybrid: Gotta fix the meter
Cane gun: Needs a pilot/fill setup
1.5" piston valve gun: Almost done

I paid about $35 for my parker QEV buying it locally. I am not sure if filling from the chamber side will damage my valve any. Did you buy yours in used condition?

i bought a parker for $20, it was 3/4''. i took it apart to see how it worked and it wont damage it, but it wouldnt work as well as if you filled from the exhaust.

I'll sell you mine! Okay... back on topic...
I did the same thing! once I disassembled it, I could not fill it consistently through the chamber. Mine was $25 including shipping.

Just look around on the internet to find distributors of industrial pneumatic parts. Mead fluid dynamics makes QEVs, and they have distributors in just about every state. Here is there page that has links to distributors, just pick the state you are going to: http://www.mead-usa.com/distribution/index.aspxMrCrowley wrote:Where did you buy it locally? They make a QEV similar to that of Airlines which uses a piston, not a diaphram.
