I have never made any sort of cannon before (potato or otherwise) and want to get into it to have a bit of fun.
I was hoping someone could point me in the direction of a "How to" or a few designs for a fairly decent golf ball launcher? Pneaumatic is my preference but the guide would need to be pretty details (Images preferable) as I am totally new to this.
I would also like to know what the cost of such a cannon is likely to total.
Sounds like a lot of fun and can't wait to build my first projectile launcher... And hopefully many more to come...
Total newb... Want to make a golfball cannon.

Hi and welcome to the forums.
A good design for your purposes would be similar to this one featured here recently - very simply put together from easily obtainable off-the-shelf parts, no complex machining neccesary, easier to but together than an airfix model and with decent performance. Otherwise have a browse through the showcase to see if there's something similar to what you'd like to achieve, members usually post construction details and are only too happy to help you make something similar. As a matter of etiquette though, try not to ask basic questions that could be easily answered by using the "search" feature and a bit of patience.
A browse though the spud wiki will explain the basics well enough and is a good starting point, including some useful how-tos (such as modding a sprinkler valve that would be useful for a golfball cannon)

not at all, the parts just slot together, it's just a question of the right application of solvent weld as above, but you'll soon get the hang of it.Venerator wrote:Looks like I will have to do a shitload of reading to understand how to put one of those together?
