burst disk

I'm wondering how many decibels (approx.) a burst disc makes. Also if it will vary with the sizes of the disc. (I'm thinking of making a burst disk gun but don't want to screw up relations with the neighbors)

PS If this has already been addressed I haven't been able to find it by searching here and would appreciate a link or at least a nudge in the right direction.

Loud. I've compared the sound of my burst disk gun, and it's as loud as an F-in 12 gauge at times.

Definitely not a good idea if you want to keep on good terms with the neighbors.

EDIT: I don't know how many decibels, im guessing around 160-170.

Wow! thanks, I guess this will be put off until I move to a place with less angry neighbors! ! Still would a 1" burst disc be quieter than a 2" burst disc?
