20psi metered propane

Darn, so the camping regulators done work? I am about to build my 1st propane meter and I was ready to use a salvaged one. Looks like I'm gonna have to buy a torch head.

you can use it, you can use it just fine. there's nothing wrong with it, you just have to have a much bigger propane meter pipe to compensate for the lower PSI.

right now i have nearly 9" of .5" pipe for my meter, seems pretty big, and it would get a little ungodly if i stepped up to a bigger gun. It actually works pretty well since it is regulated, but i have the 2 ball valves with it anyways. Kinda works like a safety, 3 valves between my chamber and the tank. Makes it hard to overfuel as long as you're paying attention and the valves are closed.

Or you can inject multiple shots of propane instead of enlarging the meter pipe. If you need, say.. 60PSI in your meter you can inject three 20PSI shots of propane..

Doing it that way is helpful if you have a large chamber. My newest combustion has a chamber volume of 462ci. With my 23.6ml fuel meter I have to inject two shots at 60PSI to get the required 180PSI of propane.

LOL! I just noticed that... But thank you for pointing it out.

I never really payed much attention to the fact that 60x2=120.. This time we'll say it equals 180.
