um if i put a small line at the bottom of my barrel so the my projectile dusnt fall into the sprinkler valve thingy dus the line that i put affect the performance?

Depends on how big your line is i guess :)
A small one wont restrict flow enough to notice any performance drops.

But i am unsure about a bolt as spud-stopper

Use Piano wire. I have used it before but on a differnet application, but it is simple. Make a small hole, slide the wire thru both holes and bend it on the outside so it doesn't fall in. You can then glue it in place.
