This is my second gun from the supplies I got from America.

This one is called SG - Penetrator because of the awesome damage it can do with a paintball.

Until I get a metal barrel i'm borrowing my DSGR/SGI paintball barrel which works like a charm.

Specs:

Barrel Diameter: Currently .5"/15mm
Chamber Diameter: 1" and 1.5"/25mm and 40mm
Barrel Length: 36"/90cm
Chamber Length: Around 30cm I guess
Valve: 3/4" QEV
Fill Valve: Schrader
Pilot Valve: 1/2" ball valve
Operating Pressure: Around 100-120psi
Ammo: .68" paintballs

Not really much to say here, pictures say it all. Video coming soon, just need to upload it.

Oh yeah it's not exactly clean looking, but hey it works :D

How does the ball valve compare to using a blow gun? Is the difference that noticable?

Hell yeah, my pilot volume is way to big for a blow gun. It actuates the QEV but lets out a lot of air before the QEV actuates.

have you already used up all your american parts? The gun looks great, aside from the big pilot. what is that fitting on your pilot setup?

Nah, well I got a GB gun in the making, similar to my PB gun I just made, except it has a 4" chamber and a GB barrel. I also bought some fittings for 2 other guns I need to fix up but I still have quite a few left over.

Not sure what it is, I bought a whole box of galv fittings awhile back and it came with them. I have a few more.

a) shame on you for the gargantuan pilot volume :?

b) don't you think 120 psi is a little too kind on an all-metal launcher?

Well the QEV is only rated for 150psi, my crappy Wal*Mart pump can't do more then 120, and my compressor is limited to 115psi.

Yeah I know it's a tad huge, but I had an extra 1/4" tee I was gonna use so I could fit everything in(guage, schrader, pilot valve etc) but a fitting snapped inside it and rendered it useless. So I had to improvise with the little small diameter fittings I had left.

I'm thinking of putting a tee where the 90* elbow is on the chamber, and having the guage come out the back of it, then I could get rid of the huge 3 way thingy in my pilot area and just have that 1/4" tee there and hook my blowgun up to that where the guage is.

GGDT says otherwise, I can't get an increase or decrease in velocity by increasing or decreasing the pilot volume within a reasonable amount.

Though my figures for the QEV were pretty half ass mixed figures from an old SGTC thread. Does anyone have some proper ones?

OOh thats great, pretty wierd pilot setup though... I would think it's safe to take that thing up to about 300psi, in little bits though.
It's all a bunch of tree huggin' hippie crap!

I don't know much about QEV's but couldn't you trigger the valve with a blow gun???? because all the ball valves makes it look a little bulky...but thats just me.....other than that I like it, its cool....

Yes you could. Most quick exhaust valves trigger by just a slight drop of pressure in the pilot if im not mistaken.

Yes but I would have poor performance. I actually have a 1" sprinkler piloted by a blow gun as the pilot valve now.
